Yudi (Saif Ali Khan) is a writer who hasn’t written anything for a few years. He is caught between finding inspiration and finding love. Armaan (Govinda) a fading movie star who goes to Hollywood to get a Bollywood script written in Hollywood style in his desperation to save his stardom.[4] He approaches Yudi to write a film for him.

The rom-com well made attempt in Bollywood !

Happy Ending is as such not very different from Saif Ali Khan’s recent films where he plays a casanova trying to woo girls & finally falls for a particular who will finally fall for him after a few complications in between.

What’s engaging & interesting in Happy Ending is the writer characteristics portrayed by Saif & Illeana, the Bollywood histrionics exposed by Govinda who plays a fading actor in the film.

I think many would be able to relate to the character of Montu played by Ranvir Shorey who plays a husband tied down by his wife’s dominance. Comic timing between Saif & Ranvir Shorey is sure to entertain the audiences.

The chemistry required between the lead pair for a romedy-rom-com film seems to have worked out quite well between Saif Ali Khan & Illeana D’cruz. Priety Zinta has played a sweet role of an ex-girlfriend of Saif Ali Khan which reminds us of their superhit earlier outing “Salaam Namaste”. The romance is in the air in Happy Ending through out the film.

Govinda really shines in the film through his comic timing & he features in the best dhinchaak song of the film “G-Phaad Ke”. He makes us wonder if the six pack abs sported by bollywood actors are acquired by going under the knives with the help of plastic surgeons. The film teases its very own bollywood on how scripts are copied by mixing a few hollywood film scenes here & there.

The downside of the film as I said earlier is that the film lacks a novel story line & it tells the cliched boy meets girl story in the premise of a writer & bollywood film script making process.

Overall, Its a feel good film of sorts which you can enjoy with your better half.
