Rustom is a 2016 Indian crime-mystery biopic film written by Vipul K Rawal and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. It features Akshay Kumar,Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta in the lead roles. The film is loosely based on the real life incident of Naval Officer K.M. Nanavati.Principal photography of the film was commenced in February 2016 and was released on 12 August 2016.

Akshay Kumar delivers some intense performance in this courtroom drama based film where a jury trial based on voting system is used to decide the fate of the naval officer Rustom who is accused of killing a man who allegedly was having an affair with his wife while he was away for 6 months on national duty.

The film is an out and out Akshay film with maximum screen time apart from the female lead Illeana D’Cruz who plays the betraying wife of Rustom.

The film seems to have added some fictional account of plot lines in the story apart from the real incident involving the murder of a rich man from the hands of a naval officer which took place in the 60’s Era.

The film tries to portray patriotism through some twisted plot but in vain.
