Te3n is an Indian Hindi thriller film written and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vidya Balan in the lead roles, it is a remake of the 2013 South Korean film Montage.

Since the film was co-produced by the Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh, the film had the expectations of being a good thriller film.

The film revolves around a retired serviceman called John played by Amitabh Bachchan whose grand daughter was kidnapped and killed during the mishap by an unknown kidnapper. Dis-illusioned by his grand daughter’s death, the sole mission in John’s life now is to find the kidnapper to convict him for his misdeeds. Nawazuddin called Martin is an ex-cop turned priest in a church after him failing to crack the case of this kidnapping 8 years ago. Vidya Balan is a cop who is now in charge of a fresh kidnapping case of the grandson of a person named Manohar.

The story primarily revolves around these characters which transforms the scenario into a perfect whodunnit flick. The climax is quite riveting and the mystery unfolds before the audience solving the puzzle. The surprise element is ample and not easy to guess in the second half of the film until the director decides to reveal by itself during the course of the film. The story is very intelligently crafted to not giveaway the clues tell the climax. Kudos to the original Korean film writer for spawning such an intriguing plot line which will baffle the audience in the end.

Amitabh, Nawaz and Vidya Balan have given noticeable performances of their lifetime for this film raising the bars and thus taking this film to another level. The backdrop of Kolkata yet again similar to Kahaani movie and the engaging background music score and the absence of song and dance helps this film to cruise along with fast edits and cuts. The only song during the rolling credits makes to want to stay back and listen to it til all the credits roll over.

Conclusion
Watch this film if you are a fan of mystery thrillers and you will not be disappointed with the sheer storytelling in the movie Te3n. However we did not understand why is the film called Te3n !!
