The Jungle Book is a 2016 American fantasy adventure film directed by Jon Favreau, written by Justin Marks, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Based on Rudyard Kipling’s eponymous collective works, the film is a live-action/CGI reimagining of Walt Disney’s 1967 animated film of the same name.[2][3] The film stars and introduces Neel Sethi as Mowgli and features the voices of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito and Christopher Walken. The film was released in India on April 8, 2016 in the 3D format and in selected screens with RealD 3D and IMAX 3D format and is scheduled to be released in the rest of the world in the Disney Digital 3D, RealD 3D and IMAX 3D formats on April 15, 2016.

If you are an 80s kid, The film takes you down the memory lanes of the cartoon serial which used to be aired on Indian television screens on Sundays. The film is a live action version of this cartoon series which gives you goose bumps due to its marvelous visuals and sound effects created entirely using technology. It will stump you for the fact that the movie is not shot in a real location with real animals. Now that is a real complement for the technical crew which worked on this film. The background score and the music is top notch.

The film features voice cast of the likes of veterans in films like Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray due to which it takes the film to a different level by leaps and bounds. The kid who plays the lead character Mowgli is cuteness personified and has won a billion hearts through his agileness in his performance.

The film narrates the story of the estranged boy Mowgli from his father who got killed by Tiger the sherkhan. The kid grows up with the panther Bagheera and the wolves led by Akela. The story takes you on an emotional journey of how Mowgli bonds with these characters as well as Baloo the bear who takes his help to stock up honey for the coming winters.

How Mowgli avenges the death of his father forms the rest of the story. The kids are gonna love this jungle fest at the start of their summer holidays.
